O2O2 Facewear, a disruptor in pollution protection, set out to reimagine face masks with their next-generation active facewear for markets in China, the USA, Europe, and beyond. They aimed to develop a mask using positive air pressure and nano-filter materials to deliver clean air, featuring an optically clear face shield to maintain user identity and communication.

Globex partnered with O2O2 Facewear to design and develop fully functioning prototypes of their active facewear mask, racing against a tight 10-week deadline for a New York product launch. The team created a comfortable, one-size-fits-all design with a 12-hour design cycle alongside the UK ID team, focusing on the mechanical structure and electronic circuitry for the positive air pressure system.

To ensure the mask’s performance and user comfort, Globex integrated the advanced nano-filter materials into the airflow system, maintaining a lightweight structure while leveraging in-house labs to iterate the design. They also collaborated with an offshore partner network to produce trade-show quality mockups, which were built and tuned in-house to showcase the mask’s potential at the launch event.
