Lab Services
At Globex we specialize in providing comprehensive engineering solutions, utilising the latest rapid prototyping, manufacturing technologies, and testing methods to help our clients bring innovative products to market faster and more cost-effectively. Whether designing a new product, iterating on an existing one, or preparing for mass production, we offer a range of services to meet your needs.
As we predominantly work in new product development we are experienced in taking on work that doesn’t ‘fit the mould’. If your requirements are outside of the services listed below, feel free to get in touch to see how we can assist you.
Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing Services
We leverage cutting-edge technologies to help you move from idea to functional prototype quickly, enabling early design validation and fast iteration. Our services include:
3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing): Our range of FDM printers allows us to produce prototypes or small batches in various plastics. Ideal for functional prototypes, proof-of-concept models, and low-volume production. Rapid turnaround, cost-effective for low runs, and flexible for complex geometries that would be difficult or impossible to produce using traditional methods are benefits from 3D printing.
CNC Machining: We have a number of CNC machines for plastics and other materials. Ideal for functional prototypes, end-use components, and parts requiring high precision.
Laser Cutting: C02 laser cutting of most plastics, rubbers and foam as well as plywood and other materials. Great for producing intricate designs, custom parts, and flat components.
Low-Pressure Injection Molding: We offer low-pressure injection molding for prototypes and short-run production. This process is particularly cost-effective for creating high-quality plastic parts with complex geometries, excellent for cable strain relief and PCB over-molding.
Ultrasonic Welding: We provide ultrasonic welding services for thermoplastic parts, creating strong, durable bonds without the need for adhesives or fasteners. Ideal for automotive, electronics, and medical device applications where a clean, permanent weld is required.
Testing & Analysis Services
We understand that rigorous testing is essential to ensure that your product performs as intended under real-world conditions. Our comprehensive testing services are designed to meet industry standards and validate your designs for safety, durability, and performance.
Tensile and Force Testing: Materials testing, structural component evaluation, and failure analysis.
Life Cycle Testing: We are able to simulate long-term use conditions to evaluate the product’s performance over its expected lifespan. This includes testing for fatigue, wear, and material degradation. Ensures product reliability and longevity, helping identify potential failure points early in the design process.
Environmental Chamber Testing: Simulating extreme environmental conditions, including temperature variations, humidity exposure, and salt mist, to test how your product will perform in various climates or weather conditions.
Pressure Testing: Using innovative techniques, we perform internal and external pressure testing to evaluate the strength, safety, and leak resistance of components and assemblies. We also design and build end-of-line production testing jigs and fixtures.
Impact Testing: We subject your products to controlled impact conditions to measure their resilience and assess how they react to sudden forces or crashes. This ensures the product meets the design standards it is designed to.
Pre-Certification Testing: We assist you in meeting regulatory and industry standards by providing pre-certification testing to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance certifications. This helps streamline the certification process, ensuring faster time to market and compliance with industry regulations.
IPxx (Ingress Protection) Testing: We conduct IP testing to measure a product’s resistance to the ingress of dust and water, ensuring it meets the necessary standards for protection against environmental hazards. Pre-certification IP testing ensures that products are properly protected from environmental factors, helping you achieve specific IP ratings (e.g., IP67, IP68) and enhancing reliability.
